Find the Tightest Lines to Minimize the Vig
Sharp Lines identifies the lowest-hold combinations across 22+ sportsbooks so you pay less juice on every bet you place.

Hold percentage (or vig) is the built-in margin sportsbooks charge on every market. A typical NFL spread might have a 4.5% hold, meaning you pay $4.50 in juice for every $100 wagered. By shopping for the lowest hold across books, you can cut that cost dramatically — sometimes below 1%. Over hundreds of bets, reducing hold from 4.5% to 1.5% can be the difference between a losing year and a profitable one. Sharp Lines scans every market across 20+ sportsbooks and shows you the best price combination on both sides so you always pay the minimum vig. Use low hold data alongside our odds screen to compare prices, or pair it with the +EV scanner to find bets where the edge exceeds the remaining vig.

Low Hold Betting FAQ
What is hold percentage?
Hold (or vig/juice) is the margin a sportsbook builds into the odds. If a fair coin flip should be +100 on both sides, a book might offer -110 on each — that extra 10 cents is the hold. Lower hold means better value for bettors.
Why does low hold matter?
Over time, the vig is the single biggest drag on your bankroll. Reducing hold from 4.5% to 1.5% on every bet is equivalent to getting 3% better odds. Over 1,000 bets at $100 each, that is $3,000 saved.
How low can hold go?
Sharp books like Pinnacle and Circa regularly offer holds under 2%. By combining the best price from two different books, you can sometimes find effective holds under 1% — approaching a perfectly fair market.
Is this the same as arbitrage?
No. Low hold means you are getting a better price, but you are still betting one side. Arbitrage means betting both sides for a guaranteed profit. However, very low hold markets are often close to arbitrage territory.
